Netmarble to Unveil Five New Titles at G-STAR 2025, Headlined by Highly Anticipated 'Evilbane'
Netmarble has announced its plans to introduce five eagerly awaited new titles at G-STAR (Game Show & Trade, All Round) in 2025. Netmarble aims to revitalize the gaming market and solidify its position as a leading global game developer with this G-STAR showing. The unveiling of new games across various genres, particularly 'Project Evilbane,' is generating significant excitement among gamers.
The five new games Netmarble will present at G-STAR include 'Project Evilbane,' 'Solo Leveling: Karma,' 'The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin,' 'Monster Taming: Star Dive,' and 'Soul: Enchant.' 'Project Evilbane' is Netmarble's next-generation MMORPG, boasting stunning graphics and spectacular action powered by Unreal Engine 5. 'Solo Leveling: Karma' is an action RPG based on the popular webtoon, faithfully capturing the original story while delivering unique gameplay experiences. 'The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin' is an open-world RPG based on Netmarble's flagship IP, 'The Seven Deadly Sins,' promising a completely new story and gameplay compared to its predecessors. 'Monster Taming: Star Dive' is a casual game based on Netmarble's popular 'Monster Taming' IP, offering simple controls and charming characters accessible to all. 'Soul: Enchant' is a collectible RPG based on Netmarble's new IP, featuring captivating characters and diverse storylines.
The gaming industry is currently facing intensifying competition. Nexon recently announced the closure of 'KartRider: Drift' on October 16th, 2023, after launching the service, leaving fans disappointed. Netmarble also ceased service for its new title, 'Paragon: The Overprime,' last year. Amidst this landscape, Netmarble intends to reverse the trend with the new titles revealed at G-STAR, establishing a springboard for another leap forward. With heightened anticipation for major MMORPGs like 'Project Evilbane,' the industry is closely watching Netmarble's potential success at G-STAR.
NCSoft is also aiming to rebound its performance with the launch of its new title, 'Aion 2,' in November. As major domestic game companies compete with new releases, the gaming market is expected to heat up further. South Korean President Lee Jae-myung met with representatives from gaming companies at PUBG Seongsu on October 15th to discuss the development of the gaming industry. With government support and interest in the gaming industry, further growth is anticipated.
Recently, SK Telecom announced that its Q3 2025 operating profit is projected to decrease by over 90% year-on-year. The Personal Information Protection Commission also imposed a fine of ₩134.8 billion on SK Telecom. Amidst these challenges in the telecommunications industry, Netmarble and other gaming companies must strive to discover new growth engines and contribute to the economic development of South Korea. On October 9th (local time), Intel announced the start of mass production of its next-generation laptop processor, 'Panther Lake,' using the 18A process. Such advancements in IT technology are expected to positively impact the gaming industry.
