Kim Seong-jin and Choi Ji-sook Join Gwangju Seo-gu's Honor Society as 94th and 95th Members
Acts of kindness continue in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, for the benefit of the local community. Kim Seong-jin, CEO of Y Mart Logistics, and Choi Ji-sook, CEO of Areumdeuri, joined the Gwangju Seo-gu Honor Society as its 94th and 95th members on October 27, 2025, simultaneously bringing warmth to the local community.
The Seo-gu Honor Society is a group of high-value donors operated in cooperation with Seo-gu, Gwangju, and the Community Chest of Korea, Gwangju Branch. It is run with the participation of individuals and companies dedicated to helping vulnerable neighbors in the local community. The addition of Kim Seong-jin and Choi Ji-sook is expected to inject new vitality into the Seo-gu Honor Society and contribute to spreading a culture of giving. In particular, the fact that the couple joined the Honor Society together to enhance the meaning of giving is considered an even more meaningful case. In addition to joining the Seo-gu Honor Society, CEO Kim Seong-jin and CEO Choi Ji-sook added to the meaning of their contribution by donating 200 bags of 10kg rice, worth a total of ₩8 million. The rice they donated will be delivered to welfare facilities and low-income families in the Seo-gu, Gwangju area. This donation is expected to greatly contribute to providing warmth to vulnerable neighbors ahead of the cold winter. In particular, it is expected to provide even more meaningful assistance to low-income families who are experiencing difficulties due to the recent economic recession. To date, approximately 100 members have participated in the Seo-gu Honor Society, contributing a total of approximately ₩3.5 billion to the development of local community welfare. Members discuss local issues through regular meetings and strengthen communication with the local community by engaging in various volunteer activities. In addition, the Seo-gu Honor Society is providing practical assistance by implementing emergency support projects for vulnerable neighbors in the local community and operating customized support programs for people in welfare blind spots. The Seo-gu Honor Society plans to continue its efforts to improve the welfare of the local community based on the active participation and support of its members. In particular, it will do its best to further improve the level of welfare in the local community by promoting new projects in various fields, such as youth support projects and elderly welfare projects.
